Bats and Bombs

(*Cues: Invader - Jim Johnston*)

The file opens to a room with a bloodied, metal wall. Severlasting spikes jutted out from the floor, and chains swung from the ceiling. Two words slammed down onto the wall: Death Battle. Voices begin to speak.

Wiz: To be the elite, you must surround yourself with the best of the best, whether you band together to save the world...or just a worthless plot of land.

Boomstick: And every good team needs a good hit and runner.

Wiz: Like Tracer, the spunky agent of Overwatch.

Boomstick: And The Scout, the Boston-born merc of Team Fortress. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick...

Wiz: And It's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills, to find out who would win...a Death Battle.

Winston paused the video file, and looked back to his friends. He confirmed that all three of them were weirded out by this.

"Well...I guess it's safe to assume that you don't have a stalker."

"What is this?" Asked Zarya.

"By the look of this, it seems to be a battle simulation that's been dressed up to look like a show."

"and they wanted me to be a part of it?" asked Tracer. "Why?"

None of them had any idea. They didn't know why Tracer was chosen to be part of the simulation, but they intended to find out. First, they'd need to watch the rest of the file to get an idea of these "hosts."

Tracer

(*Cues: Overwatch - The World Could Always Use More Heroes*)

Wiz: Thirty years from the present, mankind would become careless. Their machine servants rose up to fight for freedom, and so began a worldwide war.

"Thirty years from the 'Present'!? They recorded this all from the Past?!" exclaimed Winston.

This brought up several questions and intense confusion from him. Questions that he would have to mull over later on. For now, he grabbed a pen and paper, and began jotting stuff down as the video continued.

Boomstick: But one organization stood between world peace and total chaos: Overwatch, a team consisting of the world's greatest scientists, cyborgs, ninjas, cowboys, and pilots.

Wiz: Including Lena Oxton, codename: Tracer.

Tracer gulped in nervousness as they began to list off information that was related to her.

BACKGROUND

Real Name: Lena Oxton

Age: 26

Height: 5'4"/162 cm

Birthplace: London, England

- Became a full member of Overwatch by age 21

Agent ID: 3945_50

- Specializes in hit-and-run tactics

Favorite Catchphrase: "Cheers, love! The cavalry's here!"

Wiz: The youngest pilot ever inducted into Overwatch's flight program, Tracer is a free spirited and fearless flying ace, always laughing in the face of danger.

Winston was shocked that two guys from the PAST managed to find out what her agent ID number was. Tracer was always somewhat open about her background, but she never let information like that fall into the hands of the public.

Boomstick: After helping secure world peace, no big deal, right?,

"Tell that to the thousands of people that broke us up" muttered Tracer.

Even after working to end the Omnic Crisis, and trapping the god programs, the public soon began to hate them. It was the reason they had disbanded. They weren't really needed, and a ton of things had begun to fall apart. It put her into a depression for a while, but she picked herself back up after she stumbled upon an interview with Mondatta.

Boomstick: She was chosen to test a new prototype fighter jet...which could teleport!

Wiz: But then everything went horribly wrong. Instead of teleporting from Point A to B, the fighter jet accidentally transported her through time.

(*Cues: Overwatch - Collection Screen Theme*)

Boomstick: How do you accidentally create a time machine and put it in a fighter jet?

Wiz: A word to the wise, this is why you use animals before moving to human trials, like I always do.

As Wiz spoke, a clip from a famous old movie about Time Travel played. A normal household dog was...apparently driving a car. Though Winston took a bit of offense at Wiz's words, he had to admit that the clip was a little amusing. Just a tiny bit.

Wiz: Anyways, Tracer essentially existed as a ghost, uncontrollably phasing in and out of time. It looked like Overwatch's prized pilot would be decommissioned forever.

Tracer cringed at her past being brought up. She could still remember the feeling of all that phasing. The feeling of losing existence, and moving through time with absolutely no control, finding yourself in ...it wasn't a nice feeling.

Boomstick: Until her teammate, good friend, and gorilla scientist Winston made a special techno doohickey to keep her locked in the present.

This brought a smile back on Tracer's face. Winston had helped her live again!...She had to wear the Chronal Accelerator all the time, but at least she continued to live. It was even water-proof! So she could still bathe with it on.

"You built that?" asked Zarya, pointing to the device on Tracer.

"Yes" replied Winston. "I couldn't just let her suffer like that. I had to do something to bring her back."

(*Cues: Overwatch - Rally the Heroes*)

Wiz: This Chronal Accelerator doesn't just anchor Tracer's time displacement. It also gives her two different ways to manipulate her own time flow. In a near instant, she can zoom approximately 23 feet away. This Blink ability is not true teleportation, but instead speeds up time only for Tracer, while propelling her in any given direction.

Boomstick: What?

Wiz: She can briefly jump herself forward in time, though from an outside view, it looks like a blur.

Boomstick: Got it.

Wiz: More than that, she can also reverse time for herself with the Recall ability, which returns Tracer's health and spatial position back to where they were a few seconds before. While usually, Recall only turns back three seconds, but in some instances, she's gone as far back as fifteen.

Winston was impressed by Wiz's understanding of Tracer's abilities. It was a simple explanation, but at least he knew of it's functions and how Tracer's abilities work.

"That's what you do?" asked Zarya to Tracer. "You do all of that with that device?"

"Yep!"

Zarya stared at Tracer for a moment, before turning to Winston, saying,

"You will build more for the team."

Winston was surprised at the Russian woman for a moment. He didn't quite think he heard her correctly.

"What?"

"You will make Chronal Accelerators for the rest of the team. We will be able to rush enemies before they have a chance to react."

Winston sweatdropped at Zarya's words. He had to admit that the idea was interesting. It would certainly help a lot if everyone had Tracer's abilities. The only problem is that The accelerator only gave her access to those powers because of her chronal disassociation.

"I can't really do that. You see, it was specifically made to help Lena. Besides, unless you're willing to go through the exact same thing Lena went through, I doubt you'll be able to perform self-affecting chronomanipulation just by wearing an accelerator."

The Russian woman just stared at Winston, who sighed in response.

"No, I will not simulate the Slipstream incident for you."

"I am strong. I can take it!"

"No."

Zarya narrowed her eyes at Winston. The idea was still good. Having an entire team being able to zip around and rush their enemies? It'd help so much! She was going to have to discuss it with him later.

Boomstick: Well, thank God her weapons aren't as confusing as that shit!

ARSENAL

Chronal Accelerator

- Blink: Boosts user in any direction. Blinks recharge every 3 seconds

- Recall: Rewinds self time

Pulse Pistols

- Draws power from chronal accelerator.

- Mag Size: 28 rounds per pistol

Pulse Bomb

- Blast Radius: 10 Feet/3 Meters

- Charges over time.

Boomstick: She carries dual rapid fire Pulse Pistols as her primary pain dispensers, each can empty twenty rounds in a single second.

Wiz: But what the Pulse Pistols have in power, they sorely lack in range and accuracy.

Boomstick: Good thing she also has her Pulse Bombs! I'll put it this way, pretty much anybody she sticks this thing to, has exactly two seconds to make their peace before going to the big capture point in the sky.

If she were to be honest, Zarya was surprised by Tracer's equipment. Maybe it was because she was too focused on the mission to notice, but the footage of Tracer's guns showed that they really did shoot fast. Anyone hit by that would be in for a world of pain. The russian was beginning to wonder if she could add in a rapid fire setting for her particle cannon...nah. Her gun was fine the way it was. Besides, she didn't want to have to reload every other second.

Wiz: Tracer maximizes her unique weaponry with hit and run tactics, frustrating her enemies and making her very difficult to pin down.

Boomstick: Yeah, in addition to blinking and recalling all over the place, she can jump fifteen feet in the air.

FEATS

- Survived Time Displacement.

- Can avoid sniper fire.

- Successfully disarmed Widowmaker.

- Can jump over 10 feet.

- Defeated Widowmaker and Reaper.

- Survived a 3-Story fall.

- Helped end the Omnic Crisis.

Wiz: She's disarmed the highly trained and literally cold-blooded assassin, Widowmaker, protected the Doomfist gauntlet from theft, and even once avoided a sniper shot from just thirty feet away! A sniper round usually travels almost 1,800 miles per hour when fired, meaning Tracer had to react within one hundredth of a second.

"Wait a second..."

Tracer recognized those buildings from the video in her file. But if that was what she thought it was, then that meant that-

Boomstick: Unfortunately, that bullet found another target.

Winston and Tracer watched as the Omnic priest, Mondatta was shot down, and the hopes of humans and omnics alike were almost entirely destroyed. Winston looked down at Tracer with a look of concern.

Tracer just continued to stare at the screen, even after Athena had  paused it. That was one of her greatest failures, if not THE greatest. She felt that she could've found a way to stop her. She beat herself up over the fact that she couldn't stop Widowmaker. Since then, she had attempted to forget that event, and only focus on the good things, but it wasn't easy. Being so close to stopping the killer tended to make a person feel responsible for whatever the killer had done.

Although she could care less about the omnic, Zarya knew that Tracer felt horrible about its 'death.' She and Tracer may not have the same views on omnics, but they were friends and comrades, and she would not just stay idle as a horrible memory tortured someone that close. She placed her hand on Tracer's shoulder, catching the girl's attention.

"It was not your fault. It was all because of that сука, Widowmaker."

"She's right" assured Winston. "Widowmaker and Talon are the reason Mondatta died. They want to throw the world into chaos. We just need to make sure they don't get any more chances."

Tracer looked at her two friends, and nodded in agreement.

Boomstick: (sigh) Rest in peace, Robot Ghandi.

The memory of his death may very well never leave Tracer's mind, but Mondatta's teachings never will either.

(*Cues: Alive - Overwatch*)

Wiz: Although Tracer is a slippery opponent on the battlefield, her chronal accelerator has its limits. If used too many times in succession, it can overheat, forcing Tracer to wait for a recharge. As her pistols are linked to the accelerator, this can sometimes cause them to overload as well.

Boomstick: Plus, she's a pilot first, and not exactly a crack shot while on foot, if she doesn't get in close, she's not hitting anything but air.

"Hey!" shouted Tracer in offense.

She may not have been a crack shot, but she was still pretty decent...okay, there was that one time at the museum, but both she and Widowmaker were constantly moving! Kinda...sort of...not really all that much...Tracer was beginning to wonder if she should ask McCree for some tips.

Wiz: In spite of that, Tracer doesn't let any of it get her down. Wherever there's danger, she'll be there in the blink of an eye, with a cocky smile and a barrage of bullets.

Tracer smiled at that last part. It was true, after all.

Boomstick: Wait, whatever happened to that time warping fighter jet?

Tracer then paled at the memory of the plane. She had forgotten all about asking where it had gone. She looked towards Winston.

Wiz: I don't know...

With a bit of a concerned expression on her face, Zarya also looked towards Winston.

(Tracer hides and sees two young boys staring at her)

Tracer: Uh, don't worry, luvs, cavalry's here!

Winston said nothing in response. He simply returned to jotting something down on his list of questions and interesting points. The three of them would have to look into that sometime...in fact, they might work on tracking it soon. Leaving an unmanned, time-dissassociative fighter jet alone to phase in and out of time around the world wasn't exactly something they could just ignore.

The Scout

(*Cues: Team Fortress 2 - Archimedes*)

Wiz: In the year 1850, an extremely wealthy entrepreneur passed away, leaving his family land and business to his two sons. But like brothers are prone to do, they ended up fighting over each other's land right off the bat.

All three of the heroes groaned at that fact. Those types of people still existed, and there wasn't much even they do about it. Still, such squabbles were rare, and was usually limited to the siblings that fight each other.

Boomstick: This went on for decades, and then the brothers began recruiting mercenaries to literally wage war. And that's when things really got out of control.

...Of course, that was always a possibility. Winston began to wonder if he should watch out for rich siblings going crazy any time soon.

(*Cues: Team Fortress 2 - Drunken Pipe Bomb*)

Wiz: Each hired gun contributed with their own specialized expertise.

Boomstick: The Sniper killed from afar, The Engineer slaughtered with machines, and The Heavy mowed people down with the biggest goddamn gun they'd ever seen. What kind of sandwiches were they feeding that guy?

"It's not that big" said Zarya. "It looks like it only weighs a little over a hundred kilograms."

"What do you mean by 'only'?" exclaimed a shocked Tracer. "That's heavier than I am!"

"I was not kidding when I said I could bench press 3 of you as a warm up, Tracer."

Wiz: But one everyman only relied on his cunning, his two feet, and a baseball bat. This was The Scout.

BACKGROUND

Real Name: Unknown

Born: Boston, Massachussetts

Height: 5'10"/178 cm

- The youngest of eight boys.

- Expert in hit-and-run tactics.

- Self-proclaimed Ladies' man.

- Knows how to tango.

"Oh, wow! He knows how to Tango?"

Zarya raised a brow at Tracer.

"Out of everything in the list. The thing that catches your eye is the fact that he can dance?"

"What? It's a fun to tango."

"You're not even surprised he has 7 brothers?"

"There's plenty of couples in the world that have that many kids."

Zarya just gave up on trying to understand that part of Tracer. She'd probably pick it up later on, but for now, there was more to see.

Wiz: Born in Boston, Massachusetts in the 1950s, the mercenary only known as Scout was the runt among seven older brothers.

Boomstick: And all of them loved to wander the town looking for a good fight. Problem was, Scout's brothers were so big and tough, the fights would be over before he could get the chance to throw his own punches.

Wiz: Desperate to fight alongside his siblings, Scout realized that what he lacked in strength, he could make up for in speed.

Winston honestly didn't understand that mind set. A bunch of a kid's siblings go out to fight and come back injured, yet the kid in question still wanted to fight with them? Why would any kid want to get themselves hurt like that? This guy didn't even have a good reason like a certain little girl he used to know, the guy just wanted to brawl.

(*Cues: Team Fortress 2 - Faster Than a Speeding Bullet*)

Boomstick: So he started running, and running, and running, until one day, he was fast enough to not only keep up, but get ahead.

Wiz: Speed was his moniker, delivering pain was his game, and somewhere along the way, he even learned how to jump off of thin air. Suddenly, the pathetic runt of the pack became the smart mouth terror of Boston.

The three agents of Overwatch were surprised when they saw the Scout literally jump off of the air. He didn't look like he had any cybernetic limbs like Genji, and he didn't do any flips of tricks or anything. He just jumped once, and jumped again before started to fall back down.

The Scout: Grass grows, birds fly, sun shines, and brotha', I hurt people!

(*Cues: Team Fortress 2 - Main Theme*)

Boomstick: The only thing he was lacking was discipline. Which he could get in the military, but that didn't sound like any fun, so he became a mercenary instead.

Tracer and Winston cringed when the 'military recruits' were shown on screen. It wasn't exactly the prettiest sight to see.

ARSENAL

Baseball Bat

Winger Pistol

- Mag Size: 5 rounds

- Increases jump height

Scattershot Shotgun

- Mag Size: 6 rounds

Force-A-Nature Shotgun

- Mag Size: 2 rounds

Flying Guillotine butcher knife

Bonk! Atomic Punch

- Grants 8 seconds of invulnerability.

- Makes firearms unusable.

- Contains at minimum 11 lbs. of sugar.

Boomstick: Scout travels light, relying on a lovely shotgun and a baseball bat.

"A baseball bat?" asked an unimpressed Zarya.

Boomstick: Yes, a baseball bat. This guy is crazy enough to try and take out a rocket launcher-wielding Soldier with a pop fly.

Wiz: Which surprisingly works. Opponents are stunned by the size of his balls, both literally and figuratively, leaving them open for Scout to race up and finish them off with his guns.

Tracer snickered and Winston grinned a little when the video managed to reply back to Zarya. The Russian woman wasn't surprised by this, however. She was more focused on what she saw. The large man from earlier in the video was put into a daze after the Scout hit a ball into the guy's head.

"Still unimpressive. I can get the same result by throwing a rock."

"Oh, come on!' said Tracer with a smile. "You have to admit that impressive that he can fight with sports equipment."

Boomstick: While he's got a Pistol for pin-point accuracy, Scout's favorite tools for killing are definitely shotguns. The Scattergun is a confusing miracle of shotgun-gineering that can somehow hold six shots in a double-barrel, and is reloaded via divine intervention when you pull its lever. It's like the baby of a shotgun, rifle, and a revolver.

"Now that's just impossible" commented Winston. Though, after a moment of thinking, he spoke again "Well, maybe it's not entirely impossible with todays technology. It's definitely impossible for someone from the 20th century, though..."

Winston made a mental note to check out the Scout's file and see if there were any blueprints on the Scattergun.

Boomstick: But his most powerful gun is the Force-A-Nature:

(*Cues: Team Fortress 2 - Intruder Alert*)

Boomstick: a shotgun that only has two shots, but kicks so hard, it can boost him even higher into the air.

Wiz: Regardless, a well placed shot can quickly take down almost any mother mercenary. To make the Force-A-Nature even more ridiculous, he can strap a can of energy drink called Bonk! Atomic Punch to it, which somehow gives him five more midair jumps.

If anyone was in the area outside of the building, then they'd probably hear a collective "WHAT!?" sound off.

They've all seen double jumps. They've all bore witness to Genji's training at least once or twice. But never, NEVER in their life have they even considered that someone would have been able to jump in the air SIX TIMES. It was unheard of! All three of them were wondering what in the world that soda was made out of!

Boomstick: That's right, this guy flies with shotguns. But that's not all the soda has to offer. With just a sip of Bonk, Scout becomes totally invincible for eight seconds, but he can't use any of his guns at that time.

Wiz: Probably due to the shakes, Bonk contains several hundred times the daily recommended sugar intake. An adult male's suggested daily dosage is 25 grams, meaning Bonk contains, at minimum, eleven pounds of sugar. So much sugar, he can't take another drink for at least twenty seconds, and on top of that, it's radioactive.

If one were to listen carefully, they would hear the sound of Winston's brain shutting down and restarting itself.

Boomstick: You gotta have one tough body to handle that stuff, tough enough to survive the onslaught of three rockets at once, or to swing a baseball bat hard enough to send a guy flying eighty feet away.

Wiz: Possibly due to long term Bonk exposure, but testing is still out.

Ignoring the fact that Wiz had apparently been testing the effects of sugar and radioactive chemicals on some poor soul, Winston just couldn't understand how this guy would even survive a single sip, let alone several cans.

FEATS

- Killed a bear with one strike.

- Survived 3 rockets.

- Helped kill the Bread monster.

- Survives frequent use of Bonk! Atomic Punch.

- Defeated the heavy in close-quarters-combat.

- Can outrun sentry gun auto-targeting.

- Survived having a dove surgically embedded in his chest.

Boomstick: Scout can defeat foes as strong as the Heavy in close quarters combat, run seventeen miles per hour for long periods of time, and even kill a bear with nothing but a hotdog suit and Amelia Earhart's skeleton. I'm serious...

Collecting herself from what she had witnessed earlier, Zarya took a closer look at the bear the Scout killed.

"That's...actually not entirely impressive. That was just a baby."

"THAT'S a baby?!" exclaimed Tracer.

"Yes. Adult bears of that kind are much larger in comparison."

"...I'm just going to take your word for it."

Wiz: He has a knack for avoiding bullets, missiles, and even tentacles from a Bread monster, but at the cost of wearing little to no armor, making him a glass cannon, and true to his reckless, unrestrained personality, Scout often runs headfirst into battle, regardless of the risk.

Boomstick: But if you wanna take down The Scout, your gonna have to catch him before he catches you, that means you too, ladies.

Tracer couldn't help but think that Scout and the woman was adorable. Of course, Zarya was still unimpressed with the scrawny man, and Winston was uninterested with the romantic moment shown on the screen, but Tracer liked it nonetheless.

Scout: (to Spy) That's right, fancy pants, myself! So why don't you take your little failure, roll it up sideways, and...

(Spy points to his wristwatch)

Scout: Okay, crap, I gotta go, (he finishes a drink and goes, then peeks back in.) screw you, though.

...

Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set. Let's end this debate, once and for all.

Boomstick: It's time for a Death Battle!

DEATH BATTLE

(*Cues: S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier - Marvel VS Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds*)

The Scout hears an alarm go off so he runs all the way to outside, he kicks the door and shields his eyes from the light. After a moment, he looks around and spots Tracer stealing the briefcase.

Scout: Alright, A'hole!

Tracer stops running and turns around, startled.

"Wow..." said Tracer. "It's kinda weird seeing myself on the screen. Why am I stealing a suitcase? Why am I there? Where am I supposed to be in this?"

"Remember that this is a battle simulation, Tracer", said Winston, leaning forward in his seat, and paying attention to the screen. "Anything that doesn't set your skills and weaknesses against your opponent's is irrelevant. Though I have to admit that it's strange that they decided to add it in."

Scout: You're toast! Woah!

The Scout sees Tracer's deliciously voluptuous bu-I mean "back", and instantly falls in love.

Words alone could not express how much internal screaming was happening inside Tracer's mind at this moment.

Scout: Uh... hey there, hot stuff.

Tracer: 'ello!

Tracer turns and sees Scout smoothing his hair down.

Scout: If I told you you had a great bod, would you, uh, hold it against me?

Tracer cringed at the pick up line. She didn't think anything was bad about it, but there was just something about him that made her feel like he'd be better off with someone else. Maybe that woman from the earlier clips...

Tracer: Umm... that's nice. I was just leaving.

Scout: Oh, sure thing, come back anytime. Just, uh, put that briefcase back before ya go. Thanks.

(*Cues: Max Anarchy OST - Mortified*)

Tracer puts the briefcase on her back and whips out her guns.

Tracer: Sorry, love, Overwatch needs it mooooore than you do!

FIGHT!

Scout begins shooting his Scattershot Shotgun at Tracer.

Scout: Here!

Tracer dodges the bullets using her Blink ability and warps onto a large, metal beam. She starts using her Pulse Pistols to shoot at Scout.

Scout: Shit!

Scout avoids the bullets and jumps over a bunch of boxes for cover. Tracer blinks behind him and taunts him. Scout tries shooting her. The same thing happens two more times.

"What am I doing?! Don't mess around with him, me! He's dangerous!"

Tracer knew very well that she taunts her enemies every now and then, but never in her life had she ever done so and completely stop her assault for more than a small moment. There were several moments there, where she noticed that she could've ended the fight.

Scout: Yo toots! How you doing that?

Tracer warps in front of Scout and he responds by bringing out his Force-A Nature shotgun. She dodges his two shots and leaps high into the air.

Tracer: Bombs Away!

Tracer tosses her Pulse Bomb, which lands near the Scout's feet.

Scout: Oh that's just great...

The bomb causes a...surprisingly massive explosion. One that actually took the three Overwatch agents by surprise.

"My bombs aren't THAT destructive...are they?"

Winston kept quiet. Normally, those pulse bombs weren't quite that destructive, but there were a few times in the past where they set off larger explosions with the intent of destroying something that couldn't be easily brought down.

Tracer blinks back to avoid the shockwave. When the smoke clears, Scout's seen drinking a can of Bonk!.

Scout: Supposedly this stuff'll liquefy your esophagus after just one can, but, ya know, it's also very handy when you feel like, not getting blown up.

Tracer: That's not very fair!

Scout: Listen sweetheart...

Scout tosses the Bonk! to the side and takes out his baseball bat.

Scout: I never play fair.

Tracer tries shooting her Pulse Pistols at Scout while performing acrobatic flips. Scout casually walks through the bullet storm, unaffected, and starts swinging his bat at Tracer. Tracer blinks back and forth to avoid his attacks.

Tracer: Is that all?

Tracer warps back and prepares to attack, but her Chronal Accelerator shorts out.

"Uh oh."

Tracer hated it when her accelerator starts shorting out. Watching it happen was different from experiencing it, but it still made her worry about her chances in this simulation.

Tracer: Ah bullocks!

"Hey!" exclaimed Tracer. "Language!"

"You realize that it's a simulation of yourself, right?"

"I know, but I pride myself on being a good example to the children of the world."

"You've killed people before. You still kill people", stated Zarya.

"Hush! The fight's still on!"

Zarya rolled her eyes at Tracer's attempt to change the subject.

Scout takes advantage and delivers a number of blows with his baseball bat to Tracer.

...While the one watching the simulation winces after every hit. Tracer didn't know if it was the fact that she saw herself getting hit by the bat, or the thought that death by bludgeon seemed like a horrible way to go out, but she really didn't like how painful those whacks looked.

Scout: Batter at the plate!

Scout delivers his home run swing, and sends Tracer flying in the air.

Scout: It's outta the park!

Scout walks over to pick up the suitcase Tracer dropped after the attack.

the Overwatch agents winced when they saw the Scout swing so hard that Tracer was launched into the sky.

Tracer crashes through a number of barrels and a wall, severely damaged from the attack. Scout walks over to Tracer with the Bonk! effects wearing off. He takes out his Winger pistol and aims it at his enemy.

Scout: All right doll. Fun's over.

Tracer wasn't the only one nervous about what would happen next. Winston and Zarya were also staring intensely at the screen. They knew it was just a simulation. They it was all fake, but they didn't really like the thought of their friend cornered, injured, and about to die. For Zarya, she didn't like the thought of a comrade being killed without any of her comrades there to possibly help her. For Winston, he just hated the thought of Tracer dying altogether. None of them liked what they were seeing at the moment.

It was that intense feeling of worry inside of them that allowed the next moment to pass, and instead of simply being relieved, they were cheering like they had just prevented a another World War from happening.

Tracer grabs her side as her Chronal Accelerator starts booting up.

Tracer (and Real Tracer): Not yet, mate!

Scout fires the bullet at her face as the Chronal Accelerator becomes active again.

Tracer: The cavalry's here!

Tracer never thought she'd be so relieved to hear herself say those words. She still had a chance in the fight!

Tracer uses Recall to rewind time back to the position she was in when Scout launched her. Her injuries now recovered, she blinks over to Scout's location. Back where Scout is, the bullet hits the ground as Scout is shocked at his opponent disappearing.

Scout: Shit!

Tracer blinks back to Scout and kicks him in the air multiple times, successfully building up her Ultimate meter. After Tracer knocks him through a wall.

"Yes!" exclaimed Zarya. "Break that little man!

Scout takes out another can of Bonk! and motions to drink it, but Tracer warps in and grabs the can.

Tracer: Not this time, yankee!

Tracer blinks away with the can and then warps back to place a Pulse Bomb on Scout's back. She quickly warps out of the way as the Bomb activates on Scout's back.

A wide smile grew on Tracer's face. She looked to her friends, who looked back with smiles when they realized what just happened. She almost squealed out in joy as she said,

"It's over!"

Scout: Oh, come on! Gimme a...

The bomb goes off and kills Scout. Tracer Blinks back to the bomb site to pick up the suitcase.

Tracer: Phew! Well, that was fun!

"Fun?!" exclaimed Tracer. "My heart feels like it's about to burst out of my chest!"

Tracer picks up the suitcase and Blinks away.

KO!

Tracer looks inside the suitcase and is surprised by it's contents and quickly closes it. Archimedes flies out of Scout's hat.

RESULTS

(*Cues: Unknown Theme*)

Boomstick: And he's out!

Wiz: Scout was fast and tough, but Tracer's unique arsenal and evasiveness pulled her ahead.

Boomstick: Scout's greatest feat was potentially surviving an assault from three rockets at once, however, the rocket's point of impact is never directly shown, and since direct hits from rockets regularly obliterate far tougher mercs, it's unreasonable to assume this was any different.

"I'm still amazed he can survive an explosion like that."

Wiz: Scout could sprint up to seventeen miles an hour for an extended period of time, which is slightly faster than the average humans fifteen miles per hour, but Tracer's natural reactive instinct gave her the edge. For example, avoiding that sniper round from thirty feet away, means she can react twenty five times faster than the vast majority of other human beings.

Boomstick: Which means Tracer could avoid almost anything Scout threw at her, even when she couldn't, her Recall ability not only helped her survive, but effectively ruined any of Scout's elements of surprise.

Wiz: This allowed Tracer plenty of opportunities to take him out.

Boomstick: And just like that, Scout was gone, without a trace.

Tracer lightly giggled at the pun. The others...tolerated it. They didn't want it to ruin the moment.

Wiz: The winner is Tracer.

When the video was finished, Athena closed the file, and allowed the Overwatch agents to calm down. It didn't help that Tracer's freaking out about the battle simulation was contagious. Eventually they managed to calm down. Winston took a look at the file for the Scout, while Zarya had a little talk with Tracer about the Chronal Accelerator.

There was a lot more to the Scout's equipment than the video file showed. The designs seemed...comedic for the most part, but the blueprints somehow managed to explain why certain go where, and what they would do to create a desired effect. There was even a recipe for the Bonk! Atomic Punch. Before the battle simulation, Winston would've just laughed off the the sheer ridiculousness of the items on the screen, but now he found himself interested.

He knew that there were many things that were made possible due to science, but the idea that it could go so far as to make sodas that could make a person invulnerable? It both inspired and scared Winston. He just had to get started on attempting to replicate the effects. Especially without the deadly amount of sugar and radioactive materials. It could help Overwatch so much!

Unfortunately for him, now was not the time to get started. An alarm went off. One that indicated the detection of Talon agents within the city. Overwatch still had work to do. The three of them got their weapons, and ran out to stop the terrorists.

...Then Tracer blinked back into the lab. She went up to Winston's computer and spoke to Athena.

"Hey, Athena? Do you think you can make a copy of those files for me? You know, so I can-"

"Watch them in your free time? Acknowledged."

Tracer was going to phrase it a different way, but excitedly thanked the A.I. nonetheless. She immediately blinked back out to catch up.
Alright! I did my best, and that's all I can ask for...for this part anyway.

You cannot believe how many times I got distracted by the Death Battle's Youtube comment section while writing this. Some had good points, some were salty, but mostly, it was just people either trying to use pure game mechanics to prove that Scout would win, or otherwise using clips without thinking that others wouldn't be able to counter them with observations and other official clips.

I'm not going to have Overwatch members watch these videos in fives like other Death battle reaction-fics, since they're busy people, and have plenty of other things to worry about. At most, it'll be two in a row. Also, I'm going to be dropping in some actual original story stuff, if only to drag other characters into this. Seriously, I don't think Junkrat and Roadhog would just casually drop by without Tracer and Winston trying to apprehend them...or them refrain from destroying anything.

Anyway, leave a review and/or a suggestion for who should watch which Death Battle! Like Junkrat and Joker vs Sweet Tooth. Or D. Va and Master Chief vs Doomguy!

SEEYA'S!
